#!F-adobe-helvetica-medium-r-normal--18*
#!N
#!N  #!Rdxch DXCreateHash #!N #!N Function #!N #!N Creates a hash
table for storing elements. #!N #!N Syntax #!N  #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18*   #include <dx/dx.h>
HashTable DXCreateHash(int elementSize, PseudoKey (*hashFunc)(), int (*cmpFunc)()) #!EF #!N #!N Functional
Details #!N #!N An element to be stored consists of a
key plus whatever data is to be associated with that key.
Its size, in bytes, is specified by #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18* elementSize #!EF .
in bytes. The parameter #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18* hashFunc #!EF points to the optional
hash function callback. Given an element, #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18* hashFunc #!EF should return
a uniformly distributed long integer pseudokey. If #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18* hashFunc #!EF is
not provided, then the first long integer word of each key
is assumed to be the pseudokey. #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18* cmpFunc #!EF is the
optional compare function callback. Given a search key and an element,
 #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18* cmpFunc #!EF should return 0 if the key matches the
element. If no compare function is provided, any element matching the
pseudokey is assumed to match the search key. #!N #!N Optionally
provided by the calling application: #!N  #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18*   PseudoKey hashFunc (Key key);
#!EF #!N #!N Called on insertion and query to convert the
arbitrary-size search key into the long integer pseudokey used to store
the hash table-element. #!N  #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18*   int cmpFunc (Key searchKey, Element element);
#!EF #!N #!N Called on insertion and query when an element
from the table matches the pseudokey. Returns 0 if the search
key matches the key contained in the element found in the
table. #!N #!N See  #!Lhash,dxall1121 h Hashing  #!EL  for additional details on  #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18*   hashFunc
#!EF and #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18* cmpFunc #!EF . The HashTable created should be
deleted with DXDestroy when it is no longer needed. See #!Lmemng,dxall1023 h Memory Management #!EL
. #!N #!N  #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18*   PseudoKey #!EF is defined as: #!CForestGreen #!N
#!N  #!F-adobe-courier-bold-r-normal--18*    #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18*   #!N typedef long PseudoKey; #!N #!N typedef Pointer
Key; #!EF #!EF #!N #!N #!EC #!N #!N Return Value #!N
#!N Returns the hash table or returns #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18* NULL #!EF and
sets an error code. #!N #!N See Also #!N #!N  #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18*
