#!N #!Rtall17 Controlling Rotation #!N #!N
#!N To rotate an object in the Image window, first click
on the #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18* Mode #!EF option box (initially displaying #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18* None
#!EF ) and then select #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18* Rotate #!EF from the displayed
list. #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18* Rotate #!EF becomes the current mode and a set
of axes appears in the lower right-hand corner of the window.
You can rotate the object in two dimensions (clockwise and counterclockwise)
or in three by rotating the axes. You can also cause
the object to rotate "continuously" (i.e., in coordination with the axes).

#!N Position the mouse cursor in the Image window and hold
down the #!F-adobe-times-medium-i-normal--18* right #!EF mouse button: clockwise movement of the
mouse produces clockwise rotation of the #!F-adobe-times-medium-i-normal--18* axes #!EF ; counterclockwise
movement produces counterclockwise rotation. When the mouse button is released, the
#!F-adobe-times-medium-i-normal--18* object #!EF rotates by the same amount as the axes
have, assuming the same relative position in the window. #!N #!I0
#!N #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18* 3-D Rotation #!EF #!I50 #!N Position the mouse cursor
in the Image window and hold down the #!F-adobe-times-medium-i-normal--18* left #!EF
mouse button: the mouse now behaves like a track ball and
the axes move accordingly. When the mouse button is released, the
object rotates by the same amount as the axes have, assuming
the same relative position in the window. #!N #!I0 #!N #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18*
Continuous Rotation #!EF #!I50 #!N Once you have selected #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18* Rotate
#!EF mode, you can make the object rotate along with the
axes: select #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18* Execute #!EF in the menu bar and then
#!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18* Execute on Change #!EF in the pull-down menu ( #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18*
Execute #!EF is highlighted). The image is now replaced by a
dot representation of the object (see rendering options in IBM Visualization
Data Explorer User's Guide). The movement of the mouse (and the
axes) is reflected directly and continuously in the movement of this
dot version. Note: Movement of the axes is essentially synchronous with
movement of the mouse, but the "response time" of the dot
version may vary, depending on the machine and configuration. #!I0 #!N
#!N #!N #!N #!I0 #!N Notes: #!N #!I30 #!N 1. Turn
off #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18* Execute on Change #!EF by selecting #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18* End Execution
#!EF in the #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18* Execute #!EF pull-down menu. #!N #!I30 #!N
2. To restore the original view of the object, select #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18*
Reset #!EF in the #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18* View Control #!EF dialog box. #!I0
