      except that they takes functions that may yield.

      As usual the <code class="code">_s</code> suffix is used when calls are serialized, and
      the <code class="code">_p</code> suffix is used when they are not.
<p>

      Note that <code class="code">*_p</code> functions may not preserve event order.<br>
