<h4 class="subsection">4.9.9 StatusBar</h4>

Syntax: <code>StatusBar [0|1]</code><br>
Abbreviation: <code>ST</code>
<p class="noindent">sets the status bar flag. When this flag is true, the status bar is
displayed at the bottom of the screen. There are only two reasons to
turn off the status bar we are aware of:
<ul>
<li>if you are using <code>ne</code> through a slow connection, updating the
line/column indicator can really slow down editing;
<li>scrolling caused by cursor movement on terminals that do not allow to set a
scrolling region can produce annoying flashes at the bottom of the screen.
</ul>
<p>If you invoke <code>StatusBar</code> with no arguments, it will toggle the flag. If you
specify 0 or 1, the flag will be set to false or true, respectively.
<p>The <code>StatusBar</code> setting is saved in your <samp><span class="file">~/.ne/.default#ap</span></samp> file
when you use the <code>SaveDefPrefs</code> command or the ‘<samp><span class="samp">Save Def Prefs</span></samp>’ menu.
It is not saved by the <code>SaveAutoPrefs</code> command.
