Certaines actions, telles que la mise à jour de la liste des paquets, ne
peuvent être réalisées qu'en tant que <code class="systemitem">root</code>. Si vous n'êtes pas <code class="systemitem">root</code> au
moment de mettre à jour la liste des paquets, <span class="command"><strong>aptitude</strong></span> va vous demander de
le devenir :

Si vous sélectionnez <span class="quote">« <span class="quote">Devenir administrateur</span> »</span>, <span class="command"><strong>aptitude</strong></span> va
vous demander de saisir le mot de passe de <code class="systemitem">root</code>. Une fois que vous l'aurez
correctement saisi, <span class="command"><strong>aptitude</strong></span> effectuera les actions qui ont nécessité les
droits d'administration. Vous resterez <code class="systemitem">root</code> après la fin de l'action.

Vous pouvez passer sous le compte <code class="systemitem">root</code> à tout moment en utilisant la
commande <span class="guimenu">Actions</span> → <span class="guimenuitem">Devenir
administrateur</span>. Tous les changements que vous avez apportés à l'état
des paquets sont préservés (mais ils ne seront sauvegardés qu'à la fermeture
d'<span class="command"><strong>aptitude</strong></span>).

Par défaut, <span class="command"><strong>aptitude</strong></span> utilisera la commande <code class="systemitem">su</code>
pour obtenir les droits du superutilisateur (<span class="quote">« <span class="quote"><code class="systemitem">root</code></span> »</span>). Si vous
souhaitez utiliser une autre commande (par exemple
<code class="systemitem">sudo</code>), définissez l'option de configuration <a class="link" href="ch02s05s05.html#configGet-Root-Command"><code class="literal">Aptitude::Get-Root-Command</code></a>.
