#!N  #!Rtautcol Modules: Using AutoColor #!N #!EC #!N #!N The AutoColor
module automatically colors data for you. By default, it colors data
from blue (for minimum values) to red (for maximum values). #!N
#!I0 #!N  #!F-adobe-times-medium-r-normal--18*   #!N #!N #!I30 #!N 1. Open and execute
visual program .../AutoColor.net. The image is a translucent isosurface and a
colored plane. #!N #!I30 #!N 2. Select  #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18*   Sequencer #!EF in
the #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18* Execute #!EF pull-down menu and click on the Forward
(>) button in the #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18* Sequence Control #!EF panel. The colors
represent wind data. #!N #!I30 #!N 3. Click on the Stop
button (&sqbul.) before proceeding. #!N #!I0 #!N #!EF #!N #!N #!N
Because #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18* AutoColor #!EF colors each plane individually, the full blue-red
range is used each time to represent the wind variation in
a single plane. As a result, the same color in different
planes can represent different data values and different colors can represent
the same value. In order to make the color representation consistent
from plane to plane: #!N #!I0 #!N  #!F-adobe-times-medium-r-normal--18*   #!N #!N #!I30
#!N 1. Connect the output tab of the rightmost #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18* Import
#!EF icon to the second (projecting) input tab of #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18* AutoColor
#!EF ("min"). #!N #!I30 #!N 2. Click on the Forward button
(>) of the Sequencer again. #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18* AutoColor #!EF now applies the
blue-red range to the entire data set, so that the same
color values consistently represent the same data values in every plane.
#!N #!I30 #!N 3. Open the  #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18*   AutoColor #!EF configuration dialog
box and click on #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18* Expand #!EF to show the hidden
parameters. (See  #!Lthidprm,dxall63 h Displaying and hiding parameters  #!EL  .) #!N #!I30 #!N 4. Click on the
 #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18* opacity #!EF toggle button and change the value in the
parameter field to ".3." #!N #!I30 #!N 5. Click on the
Forward button (>) of the Sequencer again and note the change
in the plane. #!N #!I0 #!N #!EF #!N #!N #!N See
AutoColor in IBM Visualization Data Explorer User's Reference. #!N #!N #!N
