<h2 class="chapter">22 Generating HTML</h2>

<p><a name="index-HTML-output-1361"></a>
<samp><span class="command">makeinfo</span></samp> generates Info output by default, but given the
<samp><span class="option">--html</span></samp> option, it will generate HTML, for web browsers and
other programs.  This chapter gives some details on such HTML output.

  <p><samp><span class="command">makeinfo</span></samp> can also write in XML and Docbook format, but we do
not as yet describe these further.  See <a href="Output-Formats.html#Output-Formats">Output Formats</a>, for a brief
overview of all the output formats.
