Kerberos 4 for Authentication</a></h1>
<p><b class="APPLICATION">LPRng</b> has built-in support for
the Project Athena extensions to the RFC1179 protocol. These
provide an extremely simple authentication protocol using an
initial credential exchange. After the initial exchange the
usual RFC1179 protocol is used.</p>
<p>During configuration, if the <tt class="FILENAME">krb.h</tt>
(Kerberos 4) include file is found, then this is enabled by
default.</p>
