Two edition modes are available in FreeDiams:
</p>
<ul>
<li class="level1"><div class="li"> the <strong>selection only mode</strong>, where users create a list of pharmaceutical drugs without the need to inform prescription values</div>
</li>
<li class="level1"><div class="li"> the <strong>prescriber mode</strong> correspond to the full mode of the application.</div>

<h2><a name="changing_the_edition_mode" id="changing_the_edition_mode">Changing the edition mode</a></h2>

FreeDiams is opened by default with the prescriber mode.<br/>
To change the mode, select the desired mode in the menu <strong>Prescription/Editing mode</strong>. <br/>
If a prescription is already beeing edited, you will be prompt of the data lose and asked for confirmation.

The select-only mode allows the user to create lists of pharmaceutical drugs without having to enter prescriptions values. This mode is used primarily:
</p>
<ul>
<li class="level1"><div class="li"> To quickly test interactions between drugs</div>
</li>
<li class="level1"><div class="li"> Build a list of therapies for an external EMR (list of allergies, list of intolerances…)</div>
</li>
<li class="level1"><div class="li"> To print a list of therapeutics without prescription settings (commandes…)</div>
</li>
</ul>

<h3><a name="case_of_freediams_connected_to_an_external_emr" id="case_of_freediams_connected_to_an_external_emr">Case of FreeDiams connected to an external EMR</a></h3>

When FreeDiams is connected to an external EMR, the output exchange file includes:
</p>
<ul>
<li class="level1"><div class="li"> The selected drugs,</div>
</li>
<li class="level1"><div class="li"> Informations about the drug composition.</div>
</li>
</ul>
<p>
It is then possible for the external manager to rebuild its own database of allergies, intolerances or other. In this case the collaboration between applications is identical.
