<h4 class="subsubsection">16.9.2.2 Associating actions to operations</h4>

<p>GPS knows about a certain set of predefined &ldquo;operations&rdquo; that a VCS
can perform. The user can decide to implement some of them - not
necessarily all of them - in this section.

<p>The following node is used to associate a predefined operation to an
action:

<dt>&lsquo;<samp>ACTION_LABEL</samp>&rsquo;</dt>
<dd><p>is the name of the corresponding gps Action that will be launched when
GPS wants to ask the VCS to perform OPERATION,

</dd>
<dt>&lsquo;<samp>NAME OF OPERATION</samp>&rsquo;</dt>
<dd><p>is the name that will appear in the GPS menus when working on a file
under the control of the defined VCS.
