===================
This directory contains the following example files:
dbtest.sgml
dbtest.short.sgml
dbxtest.sgml
dbxtest.short.sgml
pubmed.txt
pubmed.xml
serif.bib
teitest.xml
teitest.short.xml
testrefs.ris
testrefs.xml
testrefs.usmarc
xnoteset.xml
The testrefs.ris file provides book, chapter, and journal article
entries in RIS format ready to be added to a test database, either
using the refdbc addref command, or using the web interface.
testrefs.xml provides a couple of references in an XML document using
the risx DTD. You can add these references by using the -t risx switch
of the refdbc:addref command.
The serif.bib file contains random entries in BibTeX format. Send the
contents through bib2ris-utf8 to obtain a cleaned RIS version more or
less ready to be imported into a database. Keep in mind that the input
file uses a variety of non-standard fields. It is left as an exercise
to the interested user to configure bib2ris-utf8 appropriately to
import these non-standard fields.
testrefs.usmarc contains a couple of entries in the USMARC format, as
retrieved from the Library of Congress via the Z39.50 protocol. Send
this file through the marc2ris converter to obtain a RIS version.
pubmed.txt and pubmed.xml contain the same entries pulled from the
Pubmed database of biomedical publications. The first document uses
the tagged Pubmed file format, the second is an XML document. Send
these files through med2ris to obtain the RIS versions.
dbtest.sgml and dbtest.short.sgml are DocBook SGML test
documents using the full and short citation notation, respectively.
dbxtest.sgml and dbxtest.short.sgml are DocBook XML test
documents using the full and short citation notation, respectively.
teitest.xml and teitest-short.xml are TEI XML test documents using the
full and short citation notation, respectively.
refdbtest-short.sgml and teitest-short.xml can be converted to their
full equivalents using refdbxp.
refdbtest.sgml and teitest.xml can be used with the reference entries
contained in testrefs.ris to create test output with formatted
bibliographies.
xnoteset.xml contains a sample extended note.
Please consult the manual for a full discussion of the procedures
mentioned here.
