font-family:"Times New Roman"'>To process a text file of coordinates,
converting them from one coordinate reference frame to another, and/or
transforming them from one datum to another, <span class=GramE>follow</span>
these steps:<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p style='margin-top:6.0pt;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:.5in;
margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-align:justify;text-indent:-.25in'><span
style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman"'>1<span style='mso-tab-count:
1'> </span> Select the Open... command from the File menu. A standard file
Open dialog box will appear.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p style='margin-top:6.0pt;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:.5in;
margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-align:justify;text-indent:-.25in'><span
style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman"'>2.<span
style='mso-tab-count:1'> </span>Use the controls in the file Open dialog box
to select an existing text file containing coordinates. The file Open dialog
box allows you to move up and down the directory hierarchy, and to filter the
list of files displayed. Select the desired file by either double clicking on
its name, or by selecting its name and then clicking on the OK button. The GEOTRANS
File Processing window will appear. The upper half of the GEOTRANS File
Processing window displays the input datum, the input coordinate reference
frame type, and any associated parameters that were specified in the input file
header.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p style='margin-top:6.0pt;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:.5in;
margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-align:justify;text-indent:-.25in'><span
style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman"'>3.<span
style='mso-tab-count:1'> </span>If the desired output coordinate reference
frame type is not already displayed in the lower half of the window, select the
desired entry from the pull-down list in the lower half of the window. The
lower half of the window will be updated to display the appropriate parameter
fields for the selected output coordinate reference frame type.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p style='margin-top:6.0pt;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:.5in;
margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-align:justify;text-indent:-.25in'><span
style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman"'>4.<span
style='mso-tab-count:1'> </span>If the desired output datum, and its
associated ellipsoid, is not already displayed in the lower half of the window,
select the desired datum using the pull-down list associated with the Datum
field near the top of the Output Area.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

style='mso-tab-count:1'> </span>If the output coordinate reference frame type
has any parameters associated with it (e.g. a Central Meridian), and the
default parameter values displayed in the lower half of the window are not the
desired values, change the parameter values by selecting the displayed values and
typing over them.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

style='mso-tab-count:1'> </span>Click on the OK button. A standard file Save
As... <span class=GramE>dialog</span> box will appear, with the same layout of
fields and controls as the file Open dialog box.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

box to specify the desired name and location for the output file. </span><span

files should be saved as text files (.txt or .<span class=SpellE>dat</span>).</span><span

"Times New Roman"'>Once the file name has been entered, click on the OK button.
A GEOTRANS File Processing dialog box will appear.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

style='mso-tab-count:1'> </span>Click on the Start button to begin file
processing, converting the coordinates in the input file and writing the
results to the output file. When file processing is completed, a message will
be displayed showing the number of coordinate points processed and the number
of warnings and errors that occurred. Click on the OK button to return to the GEOTRANS
main window.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
