  <title>Introduction</title>

  <p>
    <app>Entangle</app> is an application that lets you remotely control digital cameras.
    It allows you to perform tethered capture, where the shutter is remotely triggered
    from the computer. Images that are captured, whether by remote trigger or physically
    pressing the shutter button, will be downloaded for local storage and display. With
    cameras supporting a live view mode, a continuous preview of the scene can be shown
    prior to capturing. A wide range of the camera configuration settings can be seen
    and altered.
  </p>

  <p>
    When <app>Entangle</app> starts up it will look for any digital cameras that are
    attached to the computer via USB, and if it finds any that are compatible will
    connect to them, ready to capture images straight away.
  </p>

  <p>
    <app>Entangle</app> works with all digital SLRs manufactured by Nikon and Canon, and
    a selection of DSLR, bridge and compact cameras from other vendors. Linux users who
    wish to control webcams should instead look at the <app>Cheese</app> application
    provided by the GNOME project.
